Saddle Starting
For a horse to enter the saddle starting program they must meet the minimum requirements:
Halter broke,
Lead
Tie (hard tie, cross tie, ground tie, or any combination or other form is fine),
Pick up all 4 feet
Prefer to be able to load into a trailer but can work around that, however trailer loading is not something that will be worked on in saddle starting, (check out problem solving under training if you are interested in trailer loading training).
Saddle starting will introduce your horse to the saddle and saddle pad and the saddling process as well as the bridle, bitted and bitless.
The horse will learn to move comfortable with their tack before being introduced to a rider mounting and dismounting and then riding.
The training will also involve dragging and carrying items, obstacle training, trail riding, and more.
Saddle starting is full time training, (training done 5x a week)
and at least 60 days is required
